The EGK-500 grain extruder, with a power of 55 kW, is designed for preparing feed for pets, poultry, and fish with a capacity of 500–600 kg/h. During unloading, one or two long identical sticks of the finished product are obtained. For greater convenience, a special chopper can be used. The extruder is suitable for use on farms and mini-farms. It features its own control panel with an ammeter and is equipped with a hopper and a vibrating tray for convenient feeding of raw materials.

Advantages of extruded feed:

1. In the pressing chamber, the feed is crushed and heated to 180°C under a pressure of 40–60 bar. Upon exiting the die, the pressure difference causes water hammer in the grains, resulting in foaming and increasing the volume by five times or more, thus multiplying the amount of feed for the farm.

2. Ultra-fast heat treatment breaks down starch, which is difficult for animals to digest, into simple carbohydrates and sugars, while most vitamins and proteins remain intact.

3. The feed is sterilized in the extruder, which is especially important for young animals sensitive to bacteria and harmful microorganisms.

4. Virtually any quality of grain, including spoiled and unripe, can be used.

5. Extruded feed is stick-shaped, pleasant in taste, readily consumed by animals, and produces minimal waste.
