Description SB-4 Rotary Drum Dryer

The SB-4 Rotary Drum Dryer is an industrial machine designed for drying sawdust, wood chips, and other plant-based materials and biomass. It is particularly suitable as part of a pellet, briquette, or other production line where properly prepared and dried raw material is required.

Thanks to the rotating drum equipped with internal lifting blades, the material is continuously moved and mixed throughout the drying process. The flow of hot air through the drum enables effective moisture removal and prepares the raw material for subsequent production stages.

The SB-4 can operate together with a screw conveyor and other conveying equipment, making it easy to integrate into a complete processing line.

Operating principle

The raw material is fed into the dryer drum using a suitable conveying system. Inside the rotating drum, the material is lifted and moved by specially arranged internal blades.

At the same time, hot air flows through the drum and removes moisture from the material. Continuous mixing ensures even contact between the raw material and the heated air, contributing to a stable and efficient drying process.

The drum inclination angle can be adjusted within a range of 2–6°, allowing the material residence time inside the dryer to be adapted to the characteristics of the raw material and the required process parameters.

After drying, the material leaves the drum and can be directed to further conveying, storage, pelletizing, or briquetting.
